Hedge Fund Billionaire Revealed as Buyer of Record-Busting Sculpture

Hedge fund billionaire Steven Cohen was the anonymous bidder who won the world's most expensive sculpture in May, according to Page Six. Alberto Giacometti’s “Man Pointing” brought a record price of $141.3 million at Christie’s on May 11.

The 1947 masterpiece, also titled “L’Homme au doigt,” is a life-size bronze sculpture of a thin man, and it sold in the same sale as the record-setting $179 million Picasso, “Les Femmes d’Alger,” the most expensive artwork ever hammered down at auction.  The Picasso buyer is still unknown.
