AD20/21: Art & Design of the 20th & 21st Centuries To Honor Vicente Wolf with Lifetime Achievement Award

BOSTON MA - AD20/21: Art & Design of the 20th & 21st Centuries, the only annual art and design show of its kind in New England, will present celebrated design visionary and interior designer Vicente Wolf with its 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award at the fifth annual show March 15-18, 2012 in Boston.  The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Vicente Wolf at 6:00pm at the Thursday evening March 15th Gala Preview benefiting Boston Architectural College (BAC).  Past recipients of the AD20/21 Lifetime Achievement Award have included designers Vladimir Kagan, Dakota Jackson and Massimo and Lella Vignelli.  For information, call 617-363-0405 or visit www.AD2021.com.

 

A world-renowned interior designer, Vicente Wolf has been named one of the ten most influential designers in the United States by House Beautiful and has been inducted into the Designer Hall of Fame by Interior Design Magazine, and most recently was named to the AD 100 for 2012 by Architectural Digest. Wolf has been at the top of the Manhattan design industry for over 35 years. From the spacious light-filled loft in New York City where his company is headquartered, he and his team build on his passion for design that is guided by integrity and simplicity.  He maintains this focus throughout his many creative endeavors: interior design, product design, photography, art collection and global travel. Wolf’s portfolio offers the ultimate global aesthetic, from multinational conglomerates to private homes, from hotels and restaurants to product design.

 

On Friday, March 16 at 1:30pm, Mr. Wolf will present a talk on the infusion of global design and style into his work, and will sign copies of his books Lifting the Curtain on Design and Crossing Boundaries: A Global Vision of Design.   The program is open to the public, and free with admission to the show.  Other special programs will take place throughout the weekend.

The fifth annual AD20/21: Art & Design of the 20th & 21st Centuries takes place March 15-18, 2012 for their fifth annual show at The Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts in Boston's South End.  Building on the success of last year’s event, producers Tony Fusco and Robert Four will once again complement AD20/21’s spectacular selection of 20th and 21st Century fine art, photography, furniture, jewelry, design and decorative arts with the 13th Annual Boston Print Fair, which offers prints, photography, drawings and works on paper. 

 

The show opens Thursday, March 15, with a Gala Preview from 5:30-8:30pm, with all proceeds benefiting Boston Architectural College (BAC), New England's largest independent, accredited college of spatial design.  The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Vicente Wolf at 6:00pm at the Gala.  Last year's Gala was attended by more than 600 people and raised over $100,000 for the BAC.   The weekend show continues Friday, March 16 from 1-8pm, Saturday, March 17 from 11am-8pm, and Sunday March 18 from 11am-5pm.  Weekend admission is $15, under 12 free and includes admission to all special programs, lectures and panel discussions at the fair.  Valet and discount parking is available, and the show café is catered by Jules Catering. The Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts is an historical exhibition hall is located in the heart of Boston's South End in a complex that includes the Boston Ballet School, four theatres, artists' studios, restaurants, a jazz club, and more.
