Interior designer Steven Favreau, one of the top interior designers in the Boston and San Francisco areas, will be featured in three events during the Second Annual Boston Design Week, a 10-day citywide design festival, taking place March 19-29, 2014. Favreau will be the Master of Ceremonies during Design New England’s “Design Showdown”; host of “Refresh: Design Intervention” in partnership with Ink Block; and a panelist on “Collaboration: the New Edge in Home Design” at AD20/21: Art and Design of the 20th and 21st Centuries & The Boston Print Fair.
Steven Favreau’s dramatic residential interior design brings together the best of contemporary interior design with classic elements, courageously mixing current styles with fine antiques, vibrant colors, bold textures and whimsical, surprising or even irreverent elements. With Steven Favreau as the Master of Ceremonies, the final round of Design New England’s Design Showdown will take place March 20, 5:30pm-8:30pm, at the Boston Design Center. Design Showdown engages the next generation of interior designers and allows them to flex their creative muscles. During the event, finalists will have one last chance to defend their projects and convince a panel of judges that their design is the best - and they'll do it in front of a live audience. On Sunday, March 22 at 3:00pm, “Refresh: Design Intervention” will offer guests an afternoon of apartment therapy with Steven Favreau at Ink Block, a vibrant residential and retail hub in Boston’s South End. Attendees are encouraged to pre-submit images of a room that is in need of a makeover. Three rooms will be chosen to receive a virtual room makeover, presented live at the event. Favreau will also be part of AD20/21: Art and Design of the 20th & 21st Centuries & The Boston Print Fair, as a special program panelist on Saturday, March 28 at 3:00pm. The program entitled, “Collaboration, the New Edge in Home Design” will focus on how to today’s collaboration between a new generation of architects, builders, and interior designers results in premier home design and renovation. The 8th Annual AD20/21 features 50 select exhibitors of the highest quality offering modern to contemporary fine art, photography, jewelry, furniture, decorative art’s, sculpture, fine prints, drawings, and more. In addition to his luxury interior design services, Steven Favreau is a powerful and engaging speaker who offers programs on a number of topics. He studied interior design at the internationally recognized Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, yet he came to the world of design in a way that distinguishes him from other interior designers. Growing up in Boston, he originally trained in musical theatre and dance at the Boston Conservatory. He left for Paris where performed as a soloist at the Moulin Rouge, and appeared on European television, and then went on to perform on cruise ships, becoming a cruise director for American Hawaii Cruises.
