Clarke Gallery, located at 338 Main Street, Rockland, Maine, will initiate the 2019 summer season beginning June 7th with an exhibition of African American art.  The exhibition will include sculpture, oil paintings and works on paper including prints and watercolors.

The pieces in the exhibition have been selected from a collection of works that, for the most part, have not been in the public view for many years.  Some of the artist in the exhibition include Sam Gilliam, Charles Alston, John Wilson, Alvin Loving, Betye Saar, Beauford Delaney, William Johnson, Hughie Lee-Smith and Marion Perkins.
