NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Rosemery Torres in Summer Idyll. The exhibition opens June 27 and runs through July 17, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, June 27 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist 

Rosemery Torres is a painter who works primarily in acrylic. For Torres, the act of creation is a personal one that comes directly from the creative passion of the heart. She creates what she is feeling in any given moment and hopes that feeling will create some form of connection with the viewer.

Consisting mostly of colorful subjects’ places on stark monochrome or empty backgrounds, in which each brushstroke is laid out bare for us to examine, Torres’ work deals heavily in expressive portraits of both female subjects as well as animals such as horses. With their treatment of color and brushwork, as well as the expressions depicted, the paintings take on a sensuous, almost surreal character, as if they are not depicting a subject at all, but an inner emotion that Mink is capturing from her own momentary experience and presenting for everyone to see.
