Americana Week Free Mobile App Now Available at AmericanaWeek.com

The founders of Antiques Weeks Media, LLC, are pleased to announce the introduction of the AmericanaWeek.com mobile app. This means that hundreds of out-of-towners and New Yorkers anticipating Americana Week, the traditional opening of the antiques world's high season, can now access from their smart phones and hand held devices the schedulel of events running from Tuesday, January 17 through January 29. The mobile app is available at AmericanaWeek.com
The AmericanaWeek.com app includes the schedule of auctions as well as five antiques and art shows, including the New York Ceramics Fair, Antiques and Americana @ The Pier, Antiques at The Armory. The Winter Show and the Outsider Fair are also listed. Show vendors participating in the AmericanaWeek.com program are also featured, along with their specialty and Show location.
Viewers will also find museum events, including the re-opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Americana Wing and the American Folk Art's relocated headquarters at 2 Lincoln Square.
The app offers details on shuttle buses running between the Pier, Lexington Avenue Armory and the Park Avenue Armory. It shows where discount parking has been arranged by Show promoters.
The AmericanaWeek.com app can be downloaded from the Home page and Events page of AmericanaWeek.com. The QR (quick response code) consisting of black modules on a white background can be scanned and downloaded to Android handheld devices.
AmericanaWeek.com is the first of several named antiques weeks sites from Antiques Weeks Media, LLC. Visitors to the site who are familiar with the layout that guides them through a calendar of events and introduces Shows and dealer locations will discover that the mobile app virtually recreates the website.
According to Eric Miller and Regina Kolbe of Antiques Weeks Media, LLC, the website and mobile app are the first attempt to provide to a comprehensive picture of the multiple events comprising Americana Week.
Ranked at the top of Google, Bing and Yahoo, the site has already attracted thousands of visitors. It is anticipated that the service site will result in more visitors to the shows and auctions.
Since its launch in September, AmericanaWeek.com has received the support of museums, show promoters and dealers. Among the site's museum partners are the American Folk Art Museum, Brooklyn Museum and the Hudson River Museum.
Inaugural year antiques show sponsors include Stella Show Management Company, which produces both Antiques at the Armory and Americana and Antiques @ the Pier, and the Caskey-Lees' New York Ceramics Fair, at Bohemian National Hall.
