The Curator's Eye offers personalized services for dealers to find a larger international audience. Ms. Walker is responsible for the Southeastern US region, managing sales and marketing and cultivating the dealer network.
Ms. Walker comes to the Curator's Eye with a variety of experience in museums and institutions across the globe. She previously worked in the archives department of Villa I Tatti as well as the Smithsonian Institution's National Anthropological Archives. She is currently assisting with the collections at the Archibald Smith Plantation Home in Roswell, GA. Ms. Walker studied art history as an undergraduate at The George Washington University and earned a Master’s degree with merit in Early European Art and Art World Practice from the University of Glasgow.
Ms. Walker's dealer territory includes Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. She notes, “Art and antiques are definitely still being collected and appreciated here in the South. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of fine art and antique galleries in and around Atlanta. There is an appreciation of history here that I can see first hand.”
Summer Loftin of Summer Loftin Antiques in Atlanta, Georgia says, “The Curator's Eye is the perfect resource for a discerning collector. The site is visually pleasing, workable, and informative. As an interior designer and antiques dealer, I have recommended the site to clients who have specialized, growing collections of museum quality antiques. It is an honor to have The Curator's Eye launching in our Southern region, with Megan Walker leading the way, giving regional dealers an opportunity to shine on an international level.”
Co-founded by technology entrepreneurs and art market veterans Frederick Patzman and Sarah Hollenbeck Valelly, the site has attracted the attention and participation of over seventy dealers to date, with 2,200 items worth approximately $100 million listed. The Curator's Eye is a distinctive online art market that seamlessly integrates into the current structure of the high-end art world. Today, collectors from Monaco, India, Italy, and Russia are among the registered visitors from over eighty countries.
