Young Collectors Night Brings New Energy to the Winter Antiques Show

On Thursday, January 26th 2012, East Side House Settlement hosted the 15th annual Young Collectors Night at The Winter Antiques Show. Held at the Park Avenue Armory, the Show featured many of the world’s most influential antiques dealers in the United States and Europe. The Young Collectors Night event Co-Chairs were Courtney Booth, Emily Israel Pluhar, and Stephanie Clark. The Vice Chairs were Melissa D. Berkelhammer, Roric Tobin & Justin Concannon, Cristin & Britt deVeer, Clay Floren, Ashley & Charlie Fox, Dawne Marie Grannum, Kate Horvitz, Taylor S. Hurt, Claire & David Maxwell, Elizabeth Meigher, Anika Yael Natori, Elise O’Connell, Allyson and Chris Pachios, Marlies Verhoeven Reijtenbagh & Jacco Reijtenbagh, Marie Rentschler, Georgina Schaeffer, Lacary Sharpe, Alexandra Buckley Voris.
The evening offered a private viewing of America’s most prestigious Antiques Show to a new generation of collectors, art enthusiasts, interior designers, and philanthropists. Guests mingled with exhibitors to discuss the importance of collecting and the art of re-imagining the rules of design by incorporating the old with the new. Tracks by DJ David Chang resounded throughout the halls of the Park Avenue Armory as guests celebrated with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

The proceeds raised from the event are critical to our work creating opportunities for the children and families of the South Bronx and surrounding communities. We are looking forward to continued growth in 2012.”
Sponsored by New York magazine, Benjamin Moore and Elie Tahari, the night also provided guests with the opportunity to meet New York magazine’s Design Editor and Chairwoman of the Interior Design Committee, Wendy Goodman, along with 77 of the country’s most distinguished designers.
Over 800 guests enjoyed a new energy on the show floor and mingled among the sensational art and antiques. Proceeds raised from the evening will benefit East Side House Settlements vital work in the South Bronx and surrounding communities.
