The 2017 Biennial of the Americas, an international festival of ideas, art, and culture returns to the Mile High city with its opening week of events September 12-16, 2017. The week of events will take place in Denver and be filled with surprise and inspiration in venues across the city. The 2017 Biennial will feature the first U.S. outpost of the international spectacular “Fábrica de Arte Cubano” (FAC), curated by Cuban rocker, rapper and filmmaker Equis Alfonso. The FAC-Biennial space will serve as a hub of arts and ideas in a converted warehouse reminiscent of the original FAC-Havana. A maker-space for art and innovation by day and warehouse party by night, the FAC hosts viewings, performances and exhibitions of cinema, theatre, fashion, dance and music. In addition to cultural offerings, the FAC-Biennial will host important conversations, panels and dialogue among more than 300 invited guests from countries across North, Central and South America.
“I am honored and humbled Fábrica de Arte Cubano will be showcased at such a spectacular cultural event like the Biennial of the Americas,” said FAC Founder Equis Alfonso. “Our goal is to inspire artistic expression and innovation in new public spaces, and to see our vision come to life display in Denver at the Biennial of the Americas will be very special.” Starting September 12, there will be a full week of events including:
