NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Deana Evstefeeva in A Rich Spring Profusion. The exhibition opens April 18 and runs through May 8, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, April 18 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

Deana Evstefeeva’s texture in paintings created by the use of palette knives and brushwork ranging from gentle texture from brush to heavy sculpting impasto. Often portraying landscapes, her application of the venerable medium of oil adds layers to her work, pixelating it as well as lending it an expansive spatial depth that would be impossible to render in any other medium.

Evstefeeva’s oil on canvas work American Beauty utilizes a particular texture technique that is especially effective in this context. The canyon pictured feels almost tactile, the oil paint working to give the rendering of sheer cliffs a kind of skin replete with crevices and pockmocked contours.
