Anita Shapolsky Gallery, currently located in a historic brownstone at 152 East 65th Street, is pleased to announce the opening of a second location on 99 Spring Street, where the gallery was originally established in 1982.

CONCEPT: ABSTRACTION considers - in fact, reconsiders - abstract art as a language that can visualize our ever-changing concept of modernity. Approaching the third decade of the twenty-first century, this language has been translated across media: performance, video, social media, VR and AR, and many more to come. As Anita Shapolsky Gallery returns to its roots, it asks visitors to do the same by examining the roots of Abstract Expressionism in the very neighborhood where many artists of the New York School established their own visual language of abstraction.

This exhibition presents a range of abstraction from a diverse group of artists:
