MME Fine Art is pleased to announce the opening of Sacred Trees, an exhibition that celebrates the revered majesty of trees with a masterful collection of paintings by Angus Hampel, a contemporary British artist whose work will be exhibited in the United States for the first time.
Viewers will also be treated to a wonderful selection of exquisite 19th and early 20th Century American landscapes by Jasper F. Cropsey, Walter Launt Palmer, Allen Dean Cochran and William Sanford Mason among many other important artists of note.
Throughout the history of American painting, American artists have embraced the inherant beauty of our conuntry's spectacular trees depicting the unique and colorful foliage and their tremendous contribution to the American Landscape.
According to Angus, his paintings are recreations of trees. “They try to capture the wonder we forget when we look at the world. Their naturalism shows what we see and their mystery reveals there is more. That is why they are sacred. Trees come into being and recede into earth and watery sky. If we don’t stop, we’ll miss it all.”
