Auction Offers Another Banksy "Flying Cooper' Like Leonardo DiCaprio's $1 Million amfAR Donation

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Banksy reached $1million at the amfAR Gala in Cannes last week, and canny art speculators will be keeping an eye on a similar work at the Digard Auction sale next Monday.

One of the most important auctions of urban art in recent years is taking place at Digard, the leading auction house for works by Banksy and other Urban Contemporary artists such as Nick Walker and Conor Harrington, on Monday, June 1.

The auction includes an original Flying Copper by Banksy (Lot 80 in the auction), which is double sided spray paint on cardboard, with part stencil signature throughout centre. The estimate is 120,000 to 150,000 euros.

Also in the auction, Silent Majority by Banksy, is almost 10 metres long. It was created in collaboration with Inkie, and is presented at auction for the first time. The massive mural is expected to reach up to 400,000 euros.

The work will be auctioned on Monday 1st June 2015 at DIGARD AUCTION in Paris at Hotel Drouot. Sale preview Saturday 30 May, Sunday 31st May and Monday 1st June 2015 in Room 10 and 16 at the Hotel Drouot in Paris.
