Antique Flag Quilts, Flags, Flag Bunting Have Visual Punch and an Historic Back Story
Looking for the perfect gift for the departing President, the incoming President, exhausted campaign workers, or folks deeply interested in the future of this country? Consider the diverse antique patriotic offerings at Laura Fisher's FISHER HERITAGE, where you can find quilts pieced with flag ephemera, actual antique flags, and even bunting yardage with various flag-like configurations. You'll also find eagles - in hooked rugs and in the signature blocks of antique jacquard coverlets.
Political campaigns of the late 20th-early 21st centuries sadly have not continued this tradition of give-away printed textiles meant to save and re-use in decorative textiles and household furnishings; such was the fashion every four years and during major national political movements up until the 1976 Bicentennial celebration.Today's the caps, t-shirts and plastic stickers don't hold a candle to the fascinating textiles produced from the mid-1800s on that collectors, dealers and historians savor.
