EXPO CHICAGO/2012, The International Exposition of Contemporary/Modern Art and Design, is proud to announce, EXPOSURE, a limited section of international contemporary galleries with visionary programming. Application deadline is March 30, 2012.
Designed to be an important component of the fair, EXPOSURE affords up to 20 galleries, in business up to five years, the opportunity to showcase a select part of their program within the core of the exposition. A special presentation of one or two artists by each of the participating galleries provides critical exposure for their programs, offering an important opportunity for curators, collectors and art enthusiasts to survey the best in innovative and emerging work. EXPOSURE will offer a reduced booth rate, standard light packages and a fixed booth size of 200 square feet.
“EXPOSURE adds a critical element to the exposition and introduces our patrons to new work, curated by some of the top emerging dealers in the international art world,” said EXPO CHICAGO President and Director, Tony Karman.
The selection committee, along with key advisors, will convene to determine the strongest proposals from North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Distinctive proposals designed to bring a vital energy to the exposition will be selected, collectively contributing to the high caliber of artwork on view at EXPO CHICAGO.
“Creating a section of the fair that supports the community of young art dealers and artists while increasing crucial dialogue about contemporary art is very important to our team,” said EXPO CHICAGO Deputy Director Nicole Berry. “We are thrilled that a number of galleries have already approached us to submit applications for what has promised to be a competitive process. By limiting this area to no more than 20 galleries, we will provide a focused viewing experience which will be a perfect balance with the programs of the more established galleries exhibiting in the main fair.”
