If you missed our Premiere Exhibition of the work of Borie Lurie at our gallery (David David Gallery, Philadelphia) you will have another opportunity to see and acquire one of these incredibly powerful and socially evocative works.

We will be exhibiting at least twelve of them at the Palm Beach Jewelry Art & Antiques Show this Presidents Day Weekend (Gallery #416) They will all be for sale in a rare public non-museum setting. Normally they are traveled throughout the world in Museum Exhibitions to raise awareness of this Abstract Expressionist's genius but are not available for purchase. There have been Major exhibitions of Boris' work in Moscow, Florence, Jerusalem, Berlin, Iowa, Houston, Texas, New York and more. Upcoming Museum venues will be in Cologne, Lisbon and Beijing and as his star continues its meteoric rise, the prices will escalate commensurately so please do not miss this rare chance to procure one of these historically significant works which reflect and accurately report the social issues of the 1950s, 1960's and 1970's.

Boris Lurie's works, whether collage, oil painting, mixed media or drawing, are not art for art sake and weren't made for commercial reasons, but rather for the critical visual journalism which was their purpose and design. They make an important contribution and portray the unbiased translation of world events of his time as he saw them. He cared not who liked or disliked his work. He was on a mission to reflect the wrongs of society and hopefully provide the impetus for change. Having lived through Lenin and then the Concentration camps of Germany, he could not and would not abandon those horrors and let people forget man's inhumane treatment of mankind. It was a part of his psyche and through his art and the "No Art" Movement he founded he would vigilantly work to effect social change for the betterment of humanity.
