NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Howard Harris in Opening the Window. The exhibition opens March 26 and runs through April 16, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, March 28 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

Howard Harris skillfully combines technology and aesthetics in order to expand the viewer’s experience of photographic art. Informed by Op Art, quantum physics and chaos theory, Harris explores dimensional photography to recreate the complex perceptual experience.

Harris has created and patented a process of photographic construction whereby a single, usually abstracted image is layered over itself on clear acrylic surfaces and superimposed on a grid. In works like On the Move and Miro Dream the resulting visual phenomenon is fluid and dimensional, affected by such changes as the angle of viewing and light.

About the Exhibition

Opening the Window is a group exhibition that explores that nuances between abstract and figurative works. Featuring eleven artists, the exhibition incorporates works in different media, showcasing landscapes, and well as works that alter the conventional framing of figurative objects. In this way, the exhibition includes purely abstract works that nevertheless demonstrate a fidelity to spatial perception and the communication of meaning.
