Lawrence Fine Art will make its inaugural appearance at CONTEXT Art Miami, November 29-December 4.  With nearly 83,000 attendees last year, CONTEXT has become a must-see fair for collectors to acquire important works from the leading international galleries representing emerging and mid-career cutting-edge works of art.

"We are completely delighted to be participating in CONTEXT," said Gallery Director Howard Shapiro. "Nick Korniloff and his crew produce high-quality fairs that attract the best from across the art world--galleries, collectors and curators."

The gallery will highlight an array of works by art photographer Howard Schatz, drawn from his "Images: 25 Years," winner of a 2015 American Photo Book of the Year Award, The International Photography Award for Book of the Year and The One Eyeland 2015 Gold Medal, as well as sports images drawn from the current Brooklyn Museum exhibition "Who Shot Sports." 

"Schatz continues to widen the genre of art photography. We are very proud to be showing his work," said Shapiro.

The gallery will also show wildly exuberant collage paintings by George Schulman. At the age of 70, Schulman is a relative newcomer who is unafraid to move back-and-forth between figuration and abstraction and draw upon the whole of art history for a line, an image or a shape. A long-time student of Knox Martin, Schulman "reminds us a bit of Cecily Brown," said Shapiro.

Janet Mait demonstrates the importance of pedigree. A student of William Scharf, who himself is being featured at Hollis Taggart Galleries, Mait's compositional technique involves the tense balance of form, color and space, what Han's Hoffman might have called the "push-pull." Out of this tension emerge graceful abstractions that seem to float up out of the canvas and into your heart.

Finally, the gallery will show work by pop artist Sherry Wolf. "Sherry's work is about the 'perfect' world our consumer culture tries to sell us.  It always beckons but we can never really have it," said Shapiro.
