Boston, MA – Interior Designer Steven Favreau is pleased to announce his participation in the International Furnishings and Design Association – New England Chapter (IFDA – NE) Annual “Take a Seat” Touring Exhibition and Gala to benefit the Women’s Institute for Housing and Economic Development. Close to 20 Boston designers and design students have created unique “up-cycled” chair designs, which were exhibited throughout Greater Boston and which will be auctioned off during the “Take a Seat” Gala on June 1 at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts.

Using his signature dramatic design style Steven created his chair, “Velvet Revolver”, starting with a Robert Allen chair frame that evolved into a strong, edgy statement piece. Exclusively using Robert Allen fabrics, Favreau edged out the lush faux furs and bold velvets using common household items such as straps, screens, metallic hardware, and bungee cords. The soft underbelly of this monochromatic chair became encased in a daring exterior giving the chair a rugged, urban edge.

In addition, Steven stars in a promotional video for the benefit auction demonstrating the unique partnership between Favreau Design, Robert Allen, and IFDA – NE.
