WINTER ANTIQUES SHOW ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL 1STDIBS DESIGN FRIDAY

The 2014 Winter Antiques Show and Design Sponsor 1stdibs are pleased to present the inaugural 1stdibs Design Friday on Friday, on January 24, 2014.This day of design inspiration will feature lectures and book signings by luxury lifestyle visionary Aerin Lauder, interior designer and author Sandra Nunnerley, and new Winter Antiques Show exhibitor Zesty Meyers of R & Company, and focuses on antiques and interior design. All events take place at the Park Avenue Armory, 67th Street and Park Avenue, New York City. Seating is on a first-come basis and is complimentary with admission to the Show.

At 12:30 p.m., Aerin Lauder will make a personal appearance and sign copies of her first book, Beauty at Home. With Beauty at Home, Aerin opens the doors to her Manhattan residence, Hamptons home, and Madison Avenue office, showing her unparalleled approach to style. Inspiring photographs by celebrated photographer Simon Upton capture Aerin’s world in stunning detail.
At 2:30 p.m., Sandra Nunnerley will present Vision and Inspiration, a lecture and book signing. With her new tome, Interiors, for the first time Sandra Nunnerley’s fans can appreciate her graceful and global vision in print. Ms. Nunnerley will present her inspiration for such projects as the design for a thoroughly modern home featuring site-specific commissions by world-class artists and a glamorous duplex that once belonged to Hollywood producer Jack Warner in the Sherry-Netherland Hotel.
At 4:00 p.m., Zesty Meyers will present A Passion for Design. Zesty Meyers, co-founder of R & Company and a new exhibitor at the Winter Antiques show, represents a distinguished group of artisans and designers whose work is the most innovative, iconic and finely crafted of their time. Since its inception, R & Company has focused their energy on developing a world-class collection as well as a highly respected exhibition and publication program. Meyers' discussion will include designers whose works R & Company has shown including Wendell Castle, Greta Magnusson Grossman, Joaquim Tenreiro and Poul Kjaerholm. Meyers will examine distinct shifts and waves in world immigration and highlight how these designers' works had a critical impact and influence on the world of design beginning in the post World War II era to their evolution of being collected globally.

The Winter Antiques Show will run from January 24 to February 2, 2014, at the Park Avenue Armory, 67th Street and Park Avenue, New York City.
