(Boston, MA) Online sales at Artfact, the world’s premier live auction platform, remained strong in September thanks to an outstanding selection of sales offered by its auction house members.

A copy of the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London, 1800-1922 sold online for £5,400 at Lyon & Turnbull’s Rare Books, Maps & Manuscripts sale. The set, which was once part of the library of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, toppled its £800 estimate and was among the top five sales during the September 7th auction.

A painting by the renowned American landscape artist Clyde Aspevig (1951-) sold online for $14,950 (including buyers premium) at the 5th Annual Jackson Hole Art Auction. Aspevig, who was raised on a small working wheat farm in northern Montana, is known for luminous landscapes of the American West like the one sold by Jackson Hole Art Auction on September 17th. This was the first Artfact Live! auction for the Wyoming-based auction house, which offers top quality works by past and present masters of the American West.

Nadeau’s Auction Gallery sold a large watercolor landscape to an online buyer for $13,800 (including buyers premium) at their September 17th Important Asian Art Auction. When asked about the painting, which had a top estimate of $200, Vice President Heather Nadeau said she was pleasantly surprised by the results.

At Kodner Galleries recent Estate Auction, an online buyer from Beijing paid the top price of $55,000 for a Chinese Carved Jadite Figure of Guanyin. Over 40 online bids were placed for the delicate figure, which was carved from translucent and pale celadon jade set atop a rosewood stand. The September 21st auction also marked the most successful sale for Kodner Galleries since joining Artfact Live! in 2009.
