NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Caspar Baum in In and Out of the Garden. The exhibition opens May 11 and runs through May 31, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, May 16 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

Caspar Baum’s work is influenced by light, structural elements, and the principles of harmony as recognized in traditional Asian art; playing with shadows, illumination, and spatial depth, Baum separates his compositions into layers and recomposes each segment creating an imaginative, subdued environment.

Carefully dividing his canvas into portions that correspond in both size and density, Baum avoids creating aggressive and unbalanced compositions, instead creating work that is calming for the viewer; depicting the atmosphere, stillness, and tranquility he experienced while traveling through Eastern Asia. Baum’s paintings share his artistic journey, path of discovery, and his fascination with cultural exchange.
