Funds from Donation-Driven Coffee Shop Support Academic All-Stars

Temporary Space, a new exhibition platform for mid-to-late career artists is pleased to welcome PlanetRock Foundation’s pop-up coffee & tea shop.  Launching in conjunction with Temporary Space on March 21, 2015, PlanetRock will be open Monday-Saturday from 10am-8pm.  All proceeds will benefit PlanetRock Foundation’s first annual Academic All-Star Celebration.

“Temporary Space is committed to empowering artists and those who support the arts.  We are pleased to partner with PlanetRock Foundation, a crowd-funding solution launching in April, that has marked the arts as one of its core funding targets,” states Melissa Urcan, Temporary Space Exhibition Director.

PlanetRock is one of the unique ways that Temporary Space is engaging a new audience.  Temporary Space strives to create an environment that welcomes both art enthusiasts, and those who are new to an art-buying experience.  While a traditional gallery may be intimidating to those not familiar with art collecting, a coffee and tea shop is accessible to everyone.   PlanetRock will serve local Los Angeles August Uncommon Tea and Ventura-based Beacon Coffee for a suggested donation.

An alternative exhibition platform to the traditional art gallery model, Temporary Space will exhibit the art of mid-career and late-career artists, with particular emphasis upon artists who have been under-appreciated, both critically and economically.

Temporary Space presents the complete archives of selected mid-to-late career artists through exhibitions and digital applications.  The mission of Temporary Space is to enable rich and unfiltered interaction with an artist’s entire body of work, and to make purchasing the art simple and fast.

Temporary Space and PlanetRock Coffee & Tea are located in the historic Desmond Building at 5522 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA.90036.  Opening on Saturday, March 21, 2015, with the debut exhibition by Richard Shelton, 50 Years of Painting, both Temporary Space and PlanetRock Coffee & Tea will be open Monday–Saturday, 10am–8pm daily.
