On Tuesday, April 1st, 2014, at 10AM, the Antiques Dealers’ Association of America (ADA) will commence with its inaugural online antiques show. All objects in the show will be seen for the first time by both participating dealers and customers. There will be no pre-buying! The online show will run around the clock until Thursday, April 3rd at 10PM when the show will end and its webpage will disappear. No travel, no traffic, no bad weather, no tickets—this online show will be available to anyone, in any locale, from any computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Judith Livingston Loto, the president of the Antiques Dealers’ Association, commented, “The ADA is thrilled to bring online antiques shows to the realm of art and antiques. The world of e-commerce has grown significantly over the past few years. While ADA members will continue to offer quality material at traditional shows, dealer shops and galleries, with this online buying opportunity we are providing customers with the means to conveniently shop from home. In addition, we have tried to respond to customer input we have heard about both traditional and online sales venues: prices are stated up front, pre-buying is not allowed, there is no need to lose a busy weekend day, and no registration is required”.

In today’s age, a comfortable home is defined by the creative use of traditional objects. Allow the art and antiques offered in the online show to speak for you.

Our members are excited about this innovative event and we anticipate great offerings from our diverse dealers. We have asked our dealers to hold back items for this show just as they would for any other show. So expect to see the best in American antiques and fine art, folk art, Americana, Native American, and other decorative arts. Unlike auction houses, prices will be listed, and there is no requirement to pre-register. As an ADA event, each item is sold with a guarantee of authenticity!

The Antiques Dealers' Association of America, Inc. (ADA) was established in May, 1984, as a non-profit trade association. Its major objective is to make more professional the business of buying and selling antiques.

Membership is composed of professional antiques dealers who are dedicated to integrity, honesty and ethical conduct in the antiques trade. To be accepted, dealers must have a minimum of four years experience in the trade, be recommended by a committee of peers and must sign a certification agreeing to abide by the bylaws of ADA. Collectively, our dealers can provide our customers with several hundred years of experience in the trade!

All members are required to guarantee their merchandise in writing on a sales receipt which must state approximate age, origin, condition and restoration, if any, of all pieces that are sold.
