“Temporary Space” Launches Spring 2015 in Los Angeles, CA

Artist & Buyer Centric Experiment Aims to Empower Artists  and Eliminate Gallery Middleman

Temporary Space, an entirely new art-viewing and buying platform, that incorporates a physical and digital experience, will launch in Spring, 2015 with an exhibition of works by Richard Shelton.

Temporary Space is a social / community experiment with a goal to shift the art-buying experience from the hands of galleries back to the artist and collectors.   A revolutionary platform for mid-to-late career artists to represent themselves to an art-buying public, Temporary Space is democratizing the art world by presenting an artist’s entire output for viewer consideration, instead of the artists’ most recent works as dictated by the traditional gallery model.  This new framework opens the vaults to allow collectors to access works throughout the career of each artist, at all price points, and caters to the new art buying world where everyone can be a collector; not just the 1% who visit traditional galleries.

"Temporary Space is an exhibition platform meant to empower artists by connecting them directly with art buyers. Our goal is to get people, from all walks of life, excited about experiencing art," states Stacie Meyer, Executive Director of Temporary Space. "The traditional art gallery experience can be intimidating for artists and buyers. At Temporary Space we want to create a harmonious connection between the artist and the viewer/buyer. For the first time, artists and collectors can have an open access experience."

Temporary Space is not a gallery.  Artists are not represented, but provided a platform to celebrate their careers. For the first time collectors will have an opportunity to dig deeper, discover works and support artists. For the artist, Temporary Space is a direct connection to the collector, an opportunity to showcase all of their works and make their own sales without the traditional 50-60% gallery commission.

Temporary Space debut exhibit will feature artist Richard Shelton in Spring, 2015. For additional information, please visit www.temporaryspacela.com
