Rare Popeye and Casper Storyboards to be sold at Brunk Auctions

Since the late 1920s, Popeye has been an American icon. A cultural precursor to the comic book superhero and history’s most popular spinach advocate, Popeye holds a very important place in the history of Illustration art.
On March 18-19, Brunk Auctions will offer four lots of original Popeye the Sailor storyboard drawings from episodes in the early 1950s as well as one storyboard series from Casper the Friendly Ghost from 1956. The storyboards were created by various illustrators working on the series at the time.
The storyboards, to be auctioned both live and on Bidsquare simultaneously, will be separated in to lots by the episode they appeared in. This rare and extraordinary intact group of original storyboard drawings is from the collection of a New York film editor.
