CHICAGO, IL–This summer antiques, art and vintage dealers have a convenient option for selling their wares with the launch of Vintage Garage Chicago. Located inside a parking garage in the Uptown/Andersonville neighborhood, the event includes space for a vehicle with the booth rent.
“We want to make the set-up as painless as possible for everyone involved,” says promoter Melissa Sands, co founder of Vintage Promotions, LLC. “Any dealer will tell you setup and teardown are the most nerve-wracking part of a show and we’re making it easy.
“Simply pull in, open the door and unload,” Sands says. “The stuff doesn’t have to go five feet from the van.”
With space for at least 100 dealers, Sands predicts the series of summer events will become a staple for vintage shoppers in Chicago. Plans are also in place to make the event bike and stroller-friendly.
“We’re taking the fact that this is an urban market and putting that front-and-center,” Sands says. “For dealers, it’s hard to park, so we solved that. For bicyclists, there might not be a place to lock up, we’re solving that. Mom’s with small children want to come but have to deal with the stroller. We’re doing everything we can to be accommodating.”
The Vintage Garage Chicago will be held June thru October on the third Sunday of each month. The hours will be 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and the event will be held at 5051 Broadway, in Chicago between Argyle and Foster.
Vintage Promotions, LLC also operates the Dallas Vintage Clothing and Jewelry Show, held twice yearly in Grapevine, Texas. Melissa Sands also promotes the North Shore Flea in Highwood Village.
