East Dennis, Mass. – The Robert C. Eldred Co. is pleased to announce Leah S. Kingman has joined the auction and appraisal firm as the Assistant Director of European and Decorative Arts. Ms. Kingman comes to Eldred’s with a vast array of experience following six years at a large metropolitan auction house, where she specialized in European furniture and decorative arts including silver, glassware and ceramics.  

A lifelong interest and appreciation for arts and antiques led Ms. Kingman to earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Visual Culture from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and a Master of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a member of the American Ceramic Circle and the New York Silver Society and has studied in Florence, Italy. Her interests include the English Arts & Crafts and Aesthetic movements, English, French and American studio pottery, and post-war silver. In her previous positions she worked on important collections of Georgian silver, Victorian theater memorabilia and Italian grand tour souvenirs.

At Eldred’s Ms. Kingman will evaluate objects for sale at auction as well as performing insurance and estate appraisals. “We’re thrilled to have Leah onboard,” says company president John Schofield. “She brings a wealth of knowledge, passion and enthusiasm to Eldred’s and she’ll play an integral role as we expand further into the European and decorative arts markets.”
