ArtServe joins forces with the Home Design and Remodeling Show’s #AtHomeWithArt artist encounter program. The Fort Lauderdale Home Show will take place from May 26-29, 2017 (Memorial Day Weekend) at the Broward County Convention Center.
ArtServe, the award-winning non-profit arts incubator, presents “Color My World” -- an exhibition featuring some of South Florida’s most prestigious artists showcasing works that can bring color, life, personality and pleasure to any home. Jorge Vasquez, Artist Relations Manager at ArtServe will curate the exhibit.
From Kevin Doyle’s fanciful sculptures fashioned out of recycled car mufflers to Ernesto Kunde’s stunning pop-infused interpretations of Florida’s tropical surroundings, this collection of original art works give Home Show visitors a unique window into the range of styles, mediums, techniques, and sheer talent that comprise the vibrant South Florida scene. Guests will have an opportunity to meet many of the artists in person, learn more about their inspirations and gain insight into how their work reflects a uniquely Florida perspective.
“Presenting an array of local artists at the Home Show allows us to take art out of a gallery and into the public realm,” says ArtServe CEO Jaye Abbate. “Whether you are an excited new homeowner, a downsizing empty-nester, a time-strapped business executive looking to open a new office or a frazzled new parent getting ready to add in a nursery, exhibiting at the Home Show exposes everyone to high caliber art work in a convenient location, and in a context that will help them visualize how one or two pieces of original work can alter and enhance their living space.”
Meet: Lee Berlin, Dan Bondroff, Kevin Doyle, Ernesto Kunde, Ed King, Trudy Kubler, and Blima Efraim and see a curated exhibit of their work.
About “At Home with Art”
Launched in 2015, The "At Home with Art" program aims to spotlight fine art by local artists who (through an artist submission process) have been selected based on their skills and willingness to serve as "ambassadors" to the South Florida visual arts community. To date, over 100 South Florida artists have participated in the Home Show’s #AtHomewithArt artist encounter program.
In addition, original fine art and photography, art frames and unique décor items can be found throughout the Show. Find design consultation and unique décor and collectibles from exhibitors like House of Whitely that sell art, artifacts, fossil murals, and aviation design and more.
From small décor items and furniture to products and services needed for large residential and commercial renovation projects, the Home Design and Remodeling Show showcases the latest trends in interior design and home improvement.
