Since many years, Basel is recognized as an avant-garde platform for
contemporary art in Europe. The weekend on 7th/ 8th April 2017, Art Basel Center
celebrates a major event in the field of contemporary art in Switzerland. The
Swiss city is known for major institutions, art collectives and the well-established
museums such as Foundation Beyeler, Vitra Design Museum, Art Museum
Tinguely and Art Museum Basel.

The juried, contemporary charity art event, organized by Gallery Director and
Chiefcurator Priska Medam, is featuring an international slate of artists – among
them Sandra Dassi-Baus, Oliver Fauser, Adriano Fontana, Vincent Heintz, Felix
Kindelán, Werner Kramer, Priska Medam, Sophia Peters, Vicky Kaviraj Ramsurn,
Robin Schmid, Helga Schmidt, Ed Schumacher, Suat Sensoy, Jelena Zoric alias
Geenie Jell, as well as selected artworks made by Chris Delgado, Trudi Demenga,
Markus Mesmer, Juana Reimers, Ronny Reinecke.

The 8th Mixed Art exhibition opens on Friday, April, 7 at 5.00 pm at Basel Art
Center. A part of the proceeds of sold artworks will be donated to the Non-Profit
Associations Künstlerkollekte and Musikerkollekte to support emerging visual and
musician artists, and Give A Chance! Give A Future! to help children in Africa.
The event invites art and city hoppers discovering Basel, best known as one of
most vibrant cities for contemporary art in the world. Check out this top venue,
chill out, enjoy unique fine art and music to explore something unexpected – just
have a great weekend.
