Aspire Auctions presents the lifetime collection of John A. Campbell, M.D. of Akron, Ohio. A member of the Cleveland Art Museum, he enjoyed a long-time friendship with Mr. Ho and Sherman Lee. He taught an adult education class on Japanese and Chinese art at Akron University and was on the Advisory Board of the College of Fine and Professional Arts at Kent State University.

Many of the scrolls in this collection are documented with accompanying correspondence between Dr. Campbell and well-known London based Japanese art dealer David Newman. His collection included porcelains, scrolls and jades. An auction highlight of the February 2015 auction was the sale of the Chinese Imperial carpet from this collection, which sold for $67,275.00. There are other stellar Chinese pieces in this auction including a pair of carved jade cricket cages, purchased from Ashkenazie & Co. in 1975.
