“We are pleased that Fabrik, a preeminent voice in the LA art and culture community, is launching the Fabrik Expo in our backyard–the DTLA Arts District, and we are thrilled to be the beneficiary of this one-of-a-kind event” said Bob Smiland, Inner-City Arts’ President & CEO. “Fabrik Expo celebrates creativity and artistic diversity, and so it is quite fitting that proceeds will support the creative development of under-served LA youth.”

Inner-City Arts will host various creative workshops at Fabrik Expo on Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31. On a first come, first served basis, the diverse workshops will be led by ICA’s core team. (image left: Inner-City Arts fostering tomorrow’s artistic talent)

Fabrik Expo will shift perspectives about the nature of contemporary art by introducing groundbreaking works from artists that blur the boundaries between art, design, architecture, environment and media.  Fabrik Expo is committed to expanding the art fair experience and exposing audiences to a wider range of artists, media and practices that represent the cultural, aesthetic and conceptual diversity of contemporary art and design in the 21st century.

The new show will present two curated groupings of emerging artists: an academic selection and Fabrik’s Picks. Unique to the show, the selection committee will include notes about their artistic choices.  In addition, Fabrik Expo will present a special exhibition by the multi-faceted artist Jacqueline Levine, part of Gen Art’s Art at Gen Art 2016 programming.

Fabrik Expo takes place from January 29-31, 2016 at Willow Studios, 1320 Palmetto Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013.  The art fair will open with a benefit for Inner-City Arts on Friday, January 29th. General public hours are Saturday, January 30 from 11am to 7pm and Sunday, January 30th from 11am to 5pm.  For additional information, or to purchase tickets, visit www.FabrikExpo.com.
