There’s news at Payne Fine Arts. We’ve added a folk-art page to the site and have listed several new pieces of art. Among the new offerings are a small oil by Kentucky Impressionist Paul Sawyier, painted in the High Bridge area in 1910, and a plaster study for a fountain by Enid Yandell, the Louisville, Kentucky-born, internationally known sculptress. The folk-art page features a postcard-size 1891 painting of Bennetts Fork in Middlesboro, Kentucky, by an unknown hand and a nostalgic view of “Doe Hill (Doe Run) Trestle, Washington Co., Ky.” by celebrated Kentucky folk painter R.W. Rawlings. More to come as the year plays out.
