8th Annual AD20/21 Gala Preview Party to Celebrate and Support Boston Design Week 2015

The 8th Annual AD20/21: Art & Design of the 20th & 21st Centuries combined with The Boston Print Fair takes place March 26-29, 2015, at The Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts in Boston's South End.  AD20/21 features galleries specializing in modern to contemporary fine art, Mid-Century furnishings and contemporary studio furniture, jewelry, decorative arts and sculpture.  The Boston Print Fair in the front two salons features dealers in American, European and Asian fine prints, drawings, and other works on paper. Co-Producers Tony Fusco and Robert Four are pleased to announce that for the first time, the Gala Preview Party for AD20/21, taking place Thursday, March 26 2015 from 5:30-8:30pm will be held to celebrate and support Boston Design Week. Boston Design Week was started in 2014 by Fusco & Four in an effort to increase public awareness and appreciation of all aspects of design, foster recognition of the vital role design plays in our lives, and attract new audiences to a wide array of design industries and organizations. Last year AD20/21 was the concluding event of Boston Design Week, which offered 80+ events throughout the greater Boston area over the course of the 10-day festival. The events attracted an estimated 8,000 participants, with many Sold Out. The weekend show and sale will once again cap off the festival with its array of modern to contemporary exhibitors as well as special design-related programs.

 

“We are excited to host a Gala welcoming guests from the entire range of design and creative industries in the Boston area, as well as Boston Design Week participants from other cities and abroad,” comments Tony Fusco, Co-Producer of the festival and of AD20/21.  “It will be a tremendous celebratory gathering of the vital and important design world in Boston.”

Individual tickets to the Gala will also be available for purchase online and are $250 for the VIP Reception starting at 5:30pm and $125 for the Gala starting at 6:30pm.  The 2015 AD20/21 Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented at 6:00pm at the Gala.  Past recipients of the Award include Vladimir Kagan (2009), Dakota Jackson (2010), Massimo and Lella Vignelli (2011), Vicente Wolf (2012), Boston collector John P. Axelrod (2013) and Boston preservationist Susan Park (2014). 

 

An Honorary Committee comprised of numerous museum directors and curators, collectors, media representatives and notable Bostonians from all walks of life supports the Gala.  In addition a Design Week Committee comprised of representatives from more than 20 design-related non-profit organizations will be announced.
