Jackson Hole Art Auction Announces New Work by Martin Grelle

Jackson, Wyoming – September 16-17, 2016 – Trailside Galleries and the Gerald Peters Gallery are pleased to present the tenth annual Jackson Hole Art Auction, scheduled for September 16-17, 2016 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Both sessions will be held at the award-winning Center for the Arts in downtown Jackson Hole. Jason Brooks will serve as auctioneer.

Session I artwork will be available for complete preview at Trailside Galleries on Thursday, September 15th from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM MDT. Session II artwork can be previewed at the Center for the Arts on Friday, September 16th between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM MDT, and preceding the sale on Saturday, September 17th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM MDT.

The Jackson Hole Art Auction is pleased to announce the addition of a newly completed work by esteemed Cowboy Artists of America member Martin Grelle. Last Trail to Medicine Wheel, 40 x 48 inches, will be offered at $100,000-$200,000. Grelle drew his inspiration for the piece from a trip to the Bighorn Medicine Wheel in Northern Wyoming. Depicting a band of Apsaalooke, the piece captures the stunning scenery of the Bighorn National Forest and the spiritual solemnity of the journey to the Medicine Wheel there. The Jackson Hole Art Auction is the only auction house to receive a new painting from Grelle each year.

 

Other addendum lots include William Herbert Dunton’s Winter Camp of the Sioux (oil on canvas, 15 x 12) estimated at $60,000-$90,000, Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait’s A King is Crowned (oil on canvas 25 x 34) offered at $12,000-$18,000, and Hermann Herzog’s Alpine Cascade (oil on canvas, 41 3/4 x 32) at $15,000-$25,000.
