From Jose Bedia to Trek6, 23+ Miami Artists Take the Stage at the Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show – Labor Day Weekend

Among the many artists featured, the community can catch a rare glimpse of a sculpture by acclaimed Cuban artist, Jose Bedia. Bedia’s work is a replica of his public art sculpture titled, “Dueños de las Estrellas” located next to the Intercontinental Hotel at Biscayne Blvd. in Downtown Miami.

Beginning at 6pm, today Friday, September 5, 2015, 23+ Miami artists will take center stage as part of the “At Home Art” feature at the Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show.

Included in this weekend’s show are live painting demonstrations, a new Urban ArtSpace featuring interactive painting performances and exhibit by popular street artists: Atomik, Abstrk, Trek6, Nicole Salgar, Luis Valle, and Don Rimx; four curated art exhibit spaces; as well as exhibits presented by Viernes Culturales and The Coconut Grove Art Festival and their 2015 Poster Artist, Duaiv.

Bedia’s work along with a painting by Emil Bodourov have inspired Cuban-American designers Jorge Noa and Pedro Balmaseda to create a room that will be dedicated to Emmy award-winning, Univision news anchor Ambrosio Hernandez.

(2) Painting Sessions: Inspirations of the Coconut Grove Arts Festival featuring 2015 Poster Artist, DuaÍv: 7pm, Friday (9/4); 1pm, Saturday (9/5); 1pm, Sunday (9/6); 1pm Monday (9/7); and 7pm Tuesday (9/8.)

 

(3) Panel Discussion: Street Art vs. Fine Art: Sunday, September 6 at 3:00 pm - Join a panel of professional artists, gallerists, interior designers, and visual art journalists who will give insight to how, and how much to invest in art along with some friendly rivalry among artists and professionals from both sides of the spectrum. The seminar led by Susana Baker, radio show host of Art Talk with Susana Baker on 880am The Biz/Bloomberg Radio and visual arts contributor for Venu Magazine. The panelists are: Lilia Garcia - Director/Art Curator at Dynamo Art CocoWalk and at the Hunter/Coconut Grove Art Festival (CGAF) Galleries; Marte Siebenhar, Executive Director of Bakehouse Art Complex; Luis Valle - Artist and Gallery Director at Brisky Gallery;  Mindy Solomon - Owner of Mindy Solomon Gallery, and Board Member of Miami Art Dealers Association; Nereida Garcia Ferraz - Artist and Teaching Artist at ICA Miami and PAMM; Cecilia Paz - Artist, Founder/Editor of Miami Art Blog, and Art Professor; Pascal Doytier – Founder of Talking Off the Wall publication; Viviana Malave –Interior Designer, and Founder of VGM Decorators Inc.

(4) “At Home with Art” (sponsored by Around Town Arts and Culture Magazine) – 23 Miami artists were selected to showcase a sample of their work in 7, curated art exhibit spaces: “Conversation Piece” by Tatiana Blanco, Emil Bodourov, and Lorie Ofir; “Possibilities” by Armando Colls, Marta Echazarreta, and Jose Pita Vazquez; “Shared Space” by Leah Guzman, Krisse Pasternack, and Cecilia Paz; “Accumulation” by Gianna DiBartolomeo, Tamara Hervera, and Nereida Garcia Ferraz; “Portrait of the Little Havana Art District” by Astrid Alcayaga, Ninoska Perez Castellon, Madelin Perez Noa, and Fredy Villamil; “Urban ArtSpace” by Don Rimx, Abstrk, Luis Valle, Atomik, Nicole Salgar, and Trek6; and “Inspirations from the Coconut Grove Art Festival” with 2015 CGAF Poster Artist, DuaÍv.

(5) Design Tribute for South Florida News Personalities –Local Interior Designers offer their design expertise inspired by Miami art. Four “Designer Vignettes for the Stars” will be presented to:

CBS4 - Rudabeh Shahbazi:  Celebrity Designer, Nina Magon of Contour Interior Design unveils a room that incorporates paintings by Lorie Ofir. Magon, a multi-award winning interior designer and TV personality, provides complimentary design seminars Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day at 2:00 pm; and Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 pm;

 

Telemundo - Jasmina Marazita: Viviana Malave of VGM Decorators features fine art photography by Armando Colls, and large-scale, copper ‘ribbon’ sculptures by Tatiana Blanco;

 

Univision - Nobarte Designs (Pedro Balmaseda and Jorge Noa) pay tribute to Univision’s new anchor Ambrosio Hernandez in a room that is inspired by a sculpture by Jose Bedia and Emil Bodourov’s paintings;

 

NBC6 - Jawan Strader: Beth Geduld of Beth Geduld Design and will incorporate into her design, art by Juan Raúl Hoyos represented by Etra Fine Art, Wynwood;
