Located two blocks north of Chicago’s bustling Millennium Park, the Millennium Art Festival returns to downtown Chicago for its 9th year! Positioned on Lake Street, just off of Michigan Avenue and close to many of the city’s most popular cultural attractions, this award-winning show takes place on Friday, July 7th from 11 am to 6 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday, July 8th and 9th from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is free.

“The Millennium Art Festival is one of the city’s most beloved art shows of the summer,” said Amy Amdur, president of Amdur Productions, producer of the Millennium Art Festival. “Not only is the location ideal and easy to navigate, but our artists are from all over the country, and will showcase the most exceptional hand-made work,” she adds. “Visitors will see a variety of mediums including painting, photography, ceramics, glass, jewelry, sculpture and more; definitely a show not to be missed!”

The Millennium Art Festival features the talent of over 110 juried artists. Attendees are encouraged to interact with the artists through live art demonstrations and booth chats. “It’s always interesting to learn more about the artist, his or her inspiration and how the piece is made,” says Amdur. “It’s what people seem to like best about our shows.” In addition, visitors to the show can also enjoy live music and food from neighboring restaurants.

Young art festival attendees are invited to visit the youth art area to participate in “Draw for the Troops,” a new program launched this year by Amdur Productions. Kids of all ages are welcome to color a special picture for the brave men and women serving our country. At the end of the show, the drawings will be sent by Amdur to the troops stationed in the U.S. and abroad. Kids will also enjoy art fest bingo, spin art, coloring and a graffiti wall. “It’s definitely a family-friendly show,” said Amdur.

Amdur Productions is pleased to announce that the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Illinois is the charity chosen for this festival’s Green Ribbon Project. Participating artists will be placing a green ribbon on a piece of art in their booth. If the piece is sold during the Millennium Art Festival, then the artist will donate 10% of the proceeds to the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Illinois. The Spinal Cord Injury Association of Illinois is a non-profit organization providing information and support resources for individuals that are paralyzed by trauma and medical conditions. “This show has the prestigious honor of being named one of the country’s ‘Top 50 Art and Design Shows’ by Sunshine Artist Magazine,” adds Amdur. “Our spectacular city, the beautiful skyline, and the incredible art make this event a stand-out show. The artists love it as much as the attendees!”
