Hwajin Lee: Recreating the Movements of Nature
- NYC, New York
- /
- April 18, 2019
Believing nature itself to be the greatest teacher regarding the meaning of life and death, Hwajin Lee uses natural forms to communicate speculative truths. As she phrases it, “I borrow natural objects as abstract forms to express what I feel as well as my views on life. I communicate and meditate with nature through my painting.”
Her work Delight shows the range of colors she uses, along with her predilection for abstraction. Recalling Kandinsky, the work distinguishing itself from traditional abstraction by bringing every shape, every suggestion of color toward the center of the painting.
