Ann Korologos Gallery presents Wild and Wonderful, a group exhibition exploring the joyous moments of life and landscapes across Colorado and the West, captured by 20 women of the arts: Heather Foster, Veryl Goodnight, Lisa Gordon, Donna Howell-Sickles, Amy Laugesen, Sandra Lee Kaplan, Peggy Judy, Sarah Lamb, Janet Nelson, Deborah Paris, Paula Schuette Kraemer, Kate Starling, Elsa Sroka, Allison Stewart, Sabrina Stiles, Linda Lillegraven, Marie Figge Wise, Diana Woods, Dinah Worman, and Sherrie York. The exhibition is on view March 1 through March 31, 2022 at Ann Korologos Gallery in Basalt, Colorado.
“These women are not afraid to explore, to imagine, to create, to redefine, to compete,” shares gallery owner Ann Korologos. “As a group, their work is wild, diverse, bold, refined, playful, and exploratory.”
Paula Schuette Kramer, Diana Woods, and Elsa Sroka reimagine the personalities and connection with wildlife, each making them part of the family. Allison Stewart uses mixed media and imagination in her abstract landscapes, while Sherrie York carves careful observations into her linoleum prints. Deborah Paris paints from memory, and Kate Starling paints en plein air, yet both artists produce luminous landscapes full of mystery and light. Veryl Goodnight, Lisa Gordon, Janet Nelson and Amy Laugesen explore their passion for horses and history through bronze, ceramic, and paper cast. Donna Howell-Sickles and Peggy Judy honor the culture of ranch life, particularly the exuberance and strength of women on the range. Sarah Lamb is a traditional, realist still life painter, and Dinah Worman paints the landscape as though it were a still life. Heather Foster's talents conveys the spirit of her subjects, while Linda Lillegraven captures the spirit of the land. Marie Figge Wise, a painter, Sabrina Stiles, a pastel artist, and Sandra Lee Kaplan, a photographer, all seize the powerful mood of the moment witnessed.
