Auction house WestLicht, based in Vienna, is the world’s leading auction house for cameras and is holding a 100 Years of Leica auction on May 23, 2014.
- The auction features camera equipment from the company Leica Camera AG and includes equipment from all eras of the company’s technical development. Highlights include a Kellner Telescope circa 1852, which is expected to realize €50,000 - €60,000, an original and nearly mint Leica MP Black Paint from 1957, estimated to sell for €250,000 - €300,000, and a rare, original E. Leitz New York Leica Gun Rifle from 1937, which is estimated to realize €220,000 - €260,000.
France
Parisian auction house Tajan is hosting several important sales on the Invaluable platform in May, including two art and drawing sales, both scheduled for May 14, 2014.
- The Old Master Drawings auction features a drawing from Italian engraver Marcantonio Raimondi (1480-1534) and a drawing of the Mystic Marriage of St. Catherine by Luca Cambiaso (1527-1585), both estimated to realize €4,000 - €6,000.

Piasa auction house in Paris is hosting two interior design auctions sales on Invaluable on May 27, 2014.
- The JFD Collection and Contemporary Design auction features several important pieces from French architect and designer Charlotte Perriand, including a two-sided bookshelf expected to realize €70,000 - €90,000, a freeform dining table expected to realize €45,000 - €65,000 and a Library Cloud bookshelf estimated at €40,000 - €60,000.
- The Design of the Twentieth and Twenty-first Centuries sale features noteworthy lots such as a metal sculpture by French artist Nicolas Schoëffer, estimated to realize €35,000 - €45,000 and a glass and painted aluminum Cathedral dining table by Pierre Paulin, expected to sell for €20,000 - €30,000.
Artcurial – Briest – Poulain – F. Tajan in Paris has numerous sales happening through the Invaluable platform in May, including a Design Sale on May 19, 2014, and a Photography Sale on May 20, 2014.

German Auction House Lempertz, based in Cologne, has several important art auctions taking place during the month of May, including their two-day Decorative Arts sale starting on May 15, 2014 and the Old Masters & 19th Century Paintings sale, including the Hofstatter collection, taking place on May 17, 2014.
- Highlights of the Decorative Arts sale include an important Augsburg silver domestic altar and a large Augsburg silver travel service in a fitted box, both estimated to realize €150,000 - €200,000 apiece.
- Noteworthy lots from the Old Masters & 19th Century Paintings sale include the painting The Steadfast Philosopher by Gerrit van Honthorst, expected to realize €800,000 - €1,200,000, and On the Beach at Scheveningen by Jan von Goyen, estimated at €650,000 - €750,000.
Italy
Italian auction house Bolaffi has an important Books & Autographs auction taking place on May 13, 2014, in Milan.
- Lots of note include an exceptional collection of letters that make up the most extensive correspondence from Italian composer Guiseppe Verdi (1813-1901) ever presented at auction. Other noteworthy items include a collection of seven autographed letters from Opera singer Maria Callas (1923-1975) and a very rare illustrated edition of Dante Alighieri’s The Divine Comedy.
Republic of Ireland
Irish auction house Whytes, based in Dublin, has an important Irish & International Art sale coming up on May 26, 2014.
- Highlights of the sale include the oil painting Home with the Catch by Gerard Dillon (1916-1971) which is expected to realize €60,000 - €80,000, Be Somebody with a Body by Andy Warhol (1928-1987) which is estimated to sell for €40,000 - €50,000 and A Street in Tangier by Sir John Lavery (1856-1941), which is expected to realize €20,000 - €30,000.
United Kingdom
Auction house Lyon & Turnbull, based in Edinburgh, has two big sales coming up in May, including their Jewelry & Watches sale taking place on May 21, 2014, as well as the Scottish Paintings & Sculpture auction scheduled for May 22, 2014.
- Noteworthy lots being sold though the Jewelry and Watches sale include a vivid yellow and colorless diamond cluster ring estimated at £20,000 - £30,000, as well as a diamond and rubellite necklace expected to realize £15,000 - £20,000.
