MALE LIFE DRAWING MODEL WITH MALE DANCERS - 2020

AS A FINE ARTIST, MY FEMALE NUDES HAVE BECOME

VERY WELL KNOWN AND REGARDED, EXHIBITED AT THE

CALIFORNIA AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM WERE NUDES

OF CLEOPATRA, BILLIE HOLIDAY AND JOSEPHINE BAKER.

I ALSO CREATE JUST AS MANY MALE NUDES ALTHOUGH

IN MOST INSTANCES, I EXCERSISE CAUTION WHEN

POSTING THEM ON SOCIAL MEDIA. THERE IS DEFINITELY

A PROFOUND DOUBLE STANDARD, MANY SEEM TO BE OFFENDED

BY MALE NUDITY WHEREAS THEY ARE NOT OFFENDED

BY FEMALE NUDITY. ALTHOUGH, SOME ARE OFFENDED.

I BELIEVE NUDITY IS PERCEIVED IN A UNIQUE WAY

BY EVERY VIEWER AND AT TIMES, IT STEMS ALL THE WAY

BACK TO CHILDHOOD AND WHAT, WE ARE TAUGHT.

I TEND TO POST MALE NUDES MORE ON INSTAGRAM

THAN FACEBOOK, THE AUDIENCE ON INSTAGRAM

IS NOT SO PERSONAL, ITS GLOBAL AND DIRECTIONAL.

IN THIS ARTWORK, A MALE LIFE DRAWING SUBJECT

IS JUXTAPOSED WITH TWO MALE MODERN DANCERS.

THE LIFE DRAWING MODEL APPEARS TO BE OBLIVIOUS

TO THE MOVEMENTS OF THE DANCERS. EVEN THOUGH

YOU CANNOT SEE HIS FACE, HIS ATTITUDE IS FELT

THROUGH THE POSTURE OF HIS BODY - MK/ARTIST
