ArtViews—“Art Museum Funding at the Crossroads”

The American Federation of Arts is pleased to present “Art Museum Funding at the Crossroads,” as part of its exciting new series ArtViews, lively discussions on critical issues in the museum world. The discussion will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at the Museum of Modern Art. Maxwell L. Anderson, the Eugene McDermott Director of the Dallas Museum of Art and an AFA trustee, will lead five panelists in a discussion of the means by which art museums will support themselves in the coming years. Panelists: JAMES L. BILDNER is a an Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and a Senior Research Fellow at Harvard’s Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations; THOMAS P. CAMPBELL is Director and CEO of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; MELISSA CHIU is Director of the Asia Society Museum in New York and also Asia Society’s Senior Vice President for Global Arts and Cultural Programs, MARIËT WESTERMANN is Vice President of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation; and ARI WISEMAN is Deputy Director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation.
