Art Deco Furniture Highlights UK Petersfield Antiques Fair
Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Arts & Crafts pieces will feature strongly at Hampshire’s premier antiques event, The Petersfield Antiques Fair, from 8th - 10th September. ‘We’re moving into the Twentieth Century,’ explains organiser Caroline Penman. ‘Collectors are interested more than ever in the Decorative Arts and it’s great to welcome several more specialists with fantastic stock!’ Forty leading art and antiques specialists will be showing as usual at this popular event that heralds the start of the autumn season in the antiques world. Joining the fair with twentieth century pieces will be Art Deco specialist Jeroen Markies Antiques from Forest Row, Sussex with an eye-catching range of designer furniture, straight from the pages of a Jeeves & Wooster novel, paintings, lighting and mirrors, while Peter Jeffs from Crowborough specialises in 20th century decorative arts.
They join regular exhibitors Candice Horley from Twentieth Century Glamour who specialises in Hollywood style costume jewellery from the 1920’s to 1970’s including a superb Murano glass necklace by the respected glass maker Archimede Seguso. Made from amethyst and clear glass tubes with gilt cups and bar interspaced with glass pearls, this fabulous exhibit belongs to It is priced at £495.00. Also returning will be Not Wanted on Voyage with an arresting display of reclamation interior pieces, 20th century furniture and collector’s objects; Shapiro & Co. with late 19th and early 20th century European Art Nouveau silver, glass and jewellery; and Plaza with gem-set jewellery.
