In Washington D.C., noteworthy exhibitions to enliven winter days

Sure to have wide appeal, the Corcoran presents "Turner to Cezanne: Masterpieces from the Davis Collection" and National Gallery of Art opens "From Impressionism to Modernism: The Chester Dale Collection," which includes Modigliani's 1919 "Gypsy Woman with Baby." The Phillips Collection will show 100 works by Georgia O'Keeffe while Josef Albers is the subject at the Hirshhorn Museum. Smithsonian American Art Museum opens "Framing the West: The Survey Photographs on Timothy H. O'Sullivan." Before his death in 1882, O'Sullivan completed two of the most ambitious geological surveys of the 19th century.
