Actor Brad Pitt launches a furniture line next week.

Actor Brad Pitt is delving into the world of furniture design. The December issue of Architectural Digest will reveal Pitt's collaboration with designer Frank Pollaro. Their Art Nouveau and Art Deco-inspired collection will be launched in New York on November 13.

A regular at international art fairs, Pitt says his designs were decades in the making.

"I've been doodling ideas for buildings and furniture since the early 1990s, when I first discovered (Charles Rennie) Mackintosh and Frank Lloyd Wright," Pitt tells the magazine. "Actually, I found Wright in college, when looking for a lazy two-point credit to get out of French. It forever changed my life."

The high-end line of furniture will be available to view online at PittPollaro.com beginning on November 11. Highlights are now shown on AD's site.

An enormous marble bathtub for two, bulbous club chairs, a 24-karat gold clad side table and a king-sized bed with a cantilevered bench, will be among the inital offerings.

"I'm drawn to furniture design as complete architecture on a minor scale," Pitt said. "I am obsessively bent on quality, to an unhealthy degree."

Baffling some movie fans and fashionistas, Pitt has also recently become the first male spokesmodel for the iconic 90-year-old French fragrance Chanel No. 5.
