CBS Sunday Morning visited the exhibition "River Crossings: Contemporary Art Comes Home" for a segment on October 18 that showcases the new art on view at two artist-home historic sites representing the Hudson River School, the first homegrown art movement in America.
Cedar Grove, which is the Thomas Cole National Historic Site, along with the Moorish Victorian home of his student, Frederic Church, now called Olana State Historic Site, are featured, with the curated contemporary art.
Serena Altschul interviews the exhibition's co-curators Stephen Hannock and Jason Rosenfeld, who explained that the additions to the historic sites are "works by artists who live around these regions, to kind of give you a sense of the continuity over 150 years."
The exhibition closes on November 1st.
