Penguins Prefer Caravaggio to Monet in Museum's Viral Video

Humboldt penguins from Kansas City Zoo toured the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, which is temporarily closed to the public, in a special visit last week.
"Quarantine has caused everyone to go a little stir-crazy, even the residents of the Kansas City Zoo. So several of the penguins decided to go on a field trip to the Nelson-Atkins, which is still closed, to get a little culture," said a caption to a video of the excursion.
"We're always looking for ways to enrich their lives and stimulate their days and during this shutdown period, our animals really miss visitors coming up to see them," said the zoo's executive director, Randy Wisthoff.
It's refreshing to see an art museum from an animal's perspective.
"They seemed, definitely, to react much better to Caravaggio than to Monet," said director Julián Zugazagoitia, "and these are Peruvian penguins so we were speaking to them in Spanish" which he says they really appreciated.
The museum has a YouTube channel featuring the penguin visit, and video lectures on Monet's waterlilies, and more.
