'Virtual Museum Tours' Ranks High On Google List of 2020 Searches

Google released search trends for 2020 with Virtual Museum Tours ranking high. From 'Sourdough bread' to 'Where is my stimulus money,' Google's Year in Search offers a glimpse into U.S. trends and concerns during a challenging year.

In the Virtual category, virtual museum tours is said to be the second highest of seraches. Virtual field trips ranks number one, and virtual Kentucky Derby is third.

The search term 'virtual museum tours' seems to have peaked as a search, according to Google, around March 15-21, at the onset of pandemic closures. Since then, virtual learning searches have trended up more consistently. 

Google's 'virtual museum tour' search traffic may have landed on Google Arts & Culture which covers 4,500 cultural instititions, from treasures in China's Palace Museum to a street view walking tour of Stonehenge.
