Artists-Decorators: A Sale Partnership Between Architectural Digest France and PIASA Auction House

PIASA and the magazine AD France have chosen to team up to stage an ‘Artist-Decorators’
sale devoted to furniture designed by painters, sculptors, designer-artists and interior
architects.
Since the end of the 20th-century we have witnessed a renewal of the decorative arts
over and beyond furniture’s utilitarian purpose, with famous artists designing everyday objects imbued with strength and poetry, and decorators – used to producing made-to-measure pieces for the needs of individual projects – editing exceptional furniture in precious materials. AD France has played a role in this phenomenon with the exhibitions AD Intérieurs and AD Collections.
The new ‘Artist-Decorators’ sale on 22 October 2015 will showcase this creative furniture. The works selected will include unique pieces, prototypes and limited editions, offering a panorama of high quality pieces created over the past few decades.
