Loretta Ana Kaufman to Exhibit In the National Association of Women Artists 132nd Annual Exhibition

“Double Monologues: Wedge Series” by Loretta Ana Kaufman

Kaufman’s acrylic painting “Double Monologues:  Wedge Series” will be part of NAWA’s Annual Members’ Exhibition in New York City in October 2021.  This year there are 197 2D works and 21 3D works that include painting, works on paper, sculpture, photography, mixed media, collage, fiber art, and digital.  Over $10,000 in awards will be distributed.

Founded in 1889, NAWA is the first established professional women’s art organization in the United States.  With a mission to continue its long standing tradition of supporting dynamic and relevant women artists all over the nation.  Documented exhibitions are archived within the Smithsonian Institution Archives; the Whitney Museum of American Art; Art Institute of Chicago; the Library of Congress among others.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kaufman is a painter and sculptor in Nashville, Tennessee.  Her 2D and 3D work has been exhibited in South Africa, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea.  In 2020 the Tennessee Arts Commission curated a retrospective encompassing paintings, works on paper, sculpture and collage.  Some recent awards are Medal of Honor in NAWA’s Annual Exhibition for sculpture in 2020 and the Cutting Edge Award (open to all media) for an acrylic painting in NAWA’s Annual Exhibition in Manhattan in 2018.   She was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017 for her sustained involvement in the visual arts.  Loretta’s paintings and sculptures have been exhibited and won awards in Fusion Art’s international exhibitions since 2015. Her oil painting was published in the book of poetry ‘Gate Posts With No Gate – The Leg Paint Project’ in 2018 which carries an endorsement from author and curator Sean Hemingway.
